TBR Mix N’ Mingle September Edition

by Allison

Welcome back to another edition of TBR Mix n’ Mingle. Every month, the LQ ladies share our most anticipated reads of the month and invite you to do the same! In addition to all of the books we plan on reviewing on the blog this month, we’ve got a lot of good books lined up!

Make sure to add your TBR list in the linkup at the bottom of the post. Don’t forget to check out all of the other TBR lists linked as well! Don’t have a blog? Tell us about the books you want to read in the comments below.

My TBR List for September:

1) Markus Zusak (The Book Thief) just released a new book called Bridge of Clay. I haven’t gotten a hold on it at the library yet, but it is CERTAINLY at the top of my list. So far, it has a 3.9 on Goodreads, so I would bet that Zusak has outdone himself here – stylistically he is a fabulous author so I’m pretty excited for this one.

2) GBC is reading Sing, Unburied, Sing this month, by Jesmyn Ward. I’m a little worried, since I haven’t read Salvage the Bones (this book is marked as Bois Sauvage #2, so I assume they are a series). This book was on my TBR list before GBC, so I’m hopeful it will be a good fit for me!

3) Towards the end of the month, I will be reading Fruit of the Drunken Tree, by Ingrid Rojas Contreras. A few girls from my chapter of GBC like to meet and do an extra “Books and Brunch” where we eat the food and read a book from the same culture (SUPER fun, highly recommend). This one is on our calendar to discuss in early October, so it will be great to dig into this Colombian read and hopefully gain some new insight to a different country’s history.
