Lazy Sunday TBR List Roundup

by Joli

We have a much longer list of what some of our contribs added to their TBR lists this week! Check it out and let us know what you added.

Aubrey

I just finished Commonwealth this week! It’s exactly as awesome as Kathleen’s review says, and I’m really glad I finally read it.

On my TBR list is A Constellation of Vital Phenomena, which Janna highly recommended to me. We’ve also been watching the presidential debates this election season, and I want to read Whistlestop: My Favorite Stories from Presidential Campaign History, by John Dickerson.

I also really want to read The Course of Love, by Alain de Botton. It’s a novel about what happens after we fall in love, examining how our ideals align with reality. I love stories about people and relationships, so this sounds really interesting to me.

Becky

Daughters of Castle Deverill by Santa Montefiore. This is the sequel to my last review of The Girl in the Castle. I really enjoyed Montefiore’s writing style, and I’m excited to continue reading the trilogy. Now I just have to be patient for it to be released in the US…..or order it from the UK….

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. This is techinically a To Be REread, but I had to put it on here. I’ve been meaning to reread this for years. I love Agatha Christie and have since I was a middle schooler devouring books to compete for a (second) Battle of the Books title. (Cough. Sorry, Joli, for not having you on my team!)

Janna

Commonwealth is on my list after Kathleen’s amazing review! I know our newest LQ contributor, Aubrey, recently finished it too and also loved it.

Technically, I’m currently reading this, but I would like to finally finish The Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch. It’s the third in the Gentlemen Bastard series. This fantasy series follows an orphan thief, Locke Lamora, and his friends on various thieving adventures. I enjoy reading something fun while I’m trying to slog through less fun or more complicated books.

I added A Fall of Marigolds by Susan Meissner. It caught my eye in the “Readers Also Enjoyed” area on Goodreads when I was looking at The Nightingale, my current read. The cover caught my eye, and when I hovered over it and saw the 4.03 rating and the touching synopsis, I had to add it to my list. Go see for yourself!

I also added Swing Time by Zadie Smith. I’ve not read her before, but there’s quite a bit of buzz around this upcoming November release, and it sounds really good!

Kathleen

Kathleen’s TBR can be summed up with one of her most recent Instagram posts. Her caption:
